When Jane (Lewis) inherits her aunt's brownstone apartment, she decides to move in and live on her own for the first time in her life. This comes as a disappointment to her boyfriend, Greg (Hurt), who has been after her to move in with him. While unpacking and moving furniture around her new fifth floor apartment, Jane draws the ire of her downstairs neighbor and finds a warning note on her door in the morning. Before long, the notes and the pounding through the floor become more hostile, but the neighbor never confronts Jane. Despite Greg pleading with her to leave the apartment and move in with him, she is determined to stay her ground and live in peace. But when the threats lead to break-ins and attacks, Jane must come face to face with what's on the fourth to protect herself and her home.Notes:
